Project/Location The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is providing technical assistance and funding to develop the tourism potential of three Northern Mozambican Provinces. The goal is to develop and position the three provinces as major international and sustainable tourism destinations. Within each Province, Potential Tourism Investment Areas are identified. John Robinson Planning and Design was commissioned by USAID to prepare and present an overall framework for future development and identify key projects for implementation. Project Description Concepts were drawn up for major resorts, waterfront developments and historic area improvements. An implementation programme including the establishment of a new public/private sector development agency was put forward together with detailed development guidelines.
