Project/Location Halcrow Group Ltd were commissioned to provide consultancy services for the preparation of a Master Plan and Development Guidelines for Al Awir, a 50 hectare strategically located site in Dubai. The Plan is being prepared in three stages: 1. Schematic Concept Master Plan including land use, access/ circulation, landscape framework, conceptual infrastructure plans and preliminary traffic assessment. 2. Detailed Master Plan including sub division plan, urban design plan, building heights, landscape strategy plan and utilities plan. 3. Development Guidelines and Traffic Impact Assessment Report. John Robinson was sub contracted as urban designer to project manage and deliver the programme. |

Project Description 4.6 million sq.ft. of gross floor area. Mixed use development with building heights ranging from G+1 to G+6. A central open space/ plaza around which mixed use development is located with retail on ground floor. This area provides the 'heart' of the scheme. A simple road geometry with short lengths of road ensuring attractive and efficient internal access to regular sized plots.
